❧ August Favourites ❧

Another month, a new post. This time I’m trying a ‘Favourites’ blog – simply because it is nice to create a small collection of things that have interested me in the past month. Obviously this is snippet of things that fascinate me and a few of the things I think are sort of/ kind of worthwhile sharing with you guys. So yep. Hope you like reading it. :D

I first heard of this brand about 4-5 (if not more) years ago. I instantly fell in love with the brands fantasy like designs which seemed like the love-child of Temperley London and Alexander McQueen. Their A/W 15 collection doesn’t disappoint. With lots of frills, monochrome and lace, one would almost think that the collection was stolen from one of the characters in a Grimm Brothers’ story.

Guess Slip Ons

Guess always managed to hit the nail on the head when it comes to ladies footwear. This seasons range of flats and sneakers is phenomenal and well made. The designs always manage to be 100% better in real life as well which is awesome since some brands essentially look better in photographs yet they don’t have the ‘oomph’ as a product real life. My favourite is the Glorienne Slip On look-alike in animal print which for some reason is only available in foreign websites…

Marc Jacobs – Daisy Eau de Parfum

So wicked and so delicious, this scent is the perfect addition to your perfume collection. Although I love all the Marc Jacobs perfumes, this one is particularly wonderful because it’s an Eau de Parfum – which means the smell lasts longer than eau de toilette because it is a lot less diluted.  Plus, it looks stunning and will certainly look beautiful on any dressing table.

Melanie Martinez – Doll House

At first sight it is a girly & kawaii style album. With cute, doll-like props and costumes, one would definitely think it would be a bubblegum style collection. But in fact, in reality it’s completely not like that. The album deals with some serious issues and real life problems that many are familiar with. Some lyrics are blatantly obvious, whilst others are metaphorical. All the same, the album has many great tracks including Soap and Dollhouse.

Cream cakes with real fruit inside

Ever since I was little, this is what birthday cakes looked like at home. And although I’ve not eaten one in a while, I suddenly crave these summery little treats. Well, little is an understatement as I would want a huge, big slice of this. I tried scouring the internet for a picture of a cake that looks at least remotely like what I mean so here is the link if you guys want to check out the picture!

Sooo that’s it for this months favourites. I may or may not carry on doing monthly favourites but we’ll see how it goes. In the meantime, hope you guys enjoyed reading a little about what was awesome for this month!
